About the Ministry
Gerges has a passion for training and equipping leaders to influence their community for the gospel. He is building a training center to help raise up and equip local ministry leaders. He also has a huge heart for Sudanese refugees in the city and has constructed classrooms for a school serving refugee children. Ruma has a heart for discipleship ministry among impoverished young girls.
Together, they serve gospel destitute peoples in one of the largest cities in the world.

Meet the Leaders: Gerges and Ruma (pseudonym)
Gerges: I came to know the Lord in 2006. Before that, I was seeking to please God in my life, but after years of striving, I felt that this was impossible – I decided in my heart simply to be religious. During that time, God began to work in my life in various ways. One of the most significant was through my brother, who told me about justification by faith. He said to me, “Go and read what the Bible says about this.” I began to read the Bible, with the goal of proving my brother wrong, but through reading the Word of God I became born again! Everyone began to notice a change in my behavior, and I realized that something new had happened in my heart. I married my wife Ruma in 2010 and we have been serving the Lord together ever since.
Ruma: I was born in Upper Egypt, and from a young age I came to know the Lord as my personal Savior. Since childhood, I have known Him as my Father, and my heart became deeply attached to Him. After some time, I began serving in Sunday School, participating in servant-training programs, and attending inner-healing courses. The Lord blessed me through a very active and fruitful local church with wonderful servant role models.
