God's gifts of care for a family

Traveling home to Brazil for medical care ended up being a blessing for Pastor John and Fabi.  They received much-needed physical rest.  Staying in Fabi's hometown, time with family members acted like good medicine. Area churches and families encouraged them, caring for and loving them. God used physical needs to meet family needs.

"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights ..." (James 1:17a)

Summertime in Brazil is hot like Guyana, but with one big difference. Situated between mountains in the middle of the country, the town doesn't get much of a breeze.  Neither country has much air conditioning.  Thankfully, the rainy season arrives next month to cool things down. They cannot wait for cooler temperatures.

Getting medical care for the family

One blessing of being in Brazil includes access to medical, dental, and vision appointments for the whole family.  Free health care in Guyana requires a long wait, and they would not have been seen before they left.  Private healthcare is affordable, unlike in Guyana, so the whole family receives care when visiting Brazil.  A couple of them ended up with braces and glasses. Pastor John scheduled gallbladder removal in December after delaying treatment to address Fabi’s health issues first.

Celebrating Christmas with the family

In Brazil, the country decorates for Christmas starting in mid-October.  Fabi put their tree up and the boys helped to decorate. Eleven years passed since they joined the family in Brazil to celebrate Christmas.  It is going to be a special time.

A church they recently visited gifted John and Fabi's family with a vacation on the ocean.  Since there are no beaches or swimming in Guyana, this will be fun for the family during a time of medical treatments. God has used this time of treatment for medical needs for good.

• Pray for safe travels as they visit churches and then rest as a family.
• Lift up Fabi’s health as she recovers from medical procedures.
• Pray for Pastor John’s upcoming surgery to address physical needs.
