“How Can a Young Man Keep His Way Pure?”

How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word. (Psalm 119:9)

The Training Families project in Togo knows this important truth and takes it to heart. Pastor Joseph, the leader of this project, has made it one of his chief ambitions to train up the youth in Togo and other West African countries.

National Youth Conference 2017

The biggest way the ministry does this is through their National Youth Conference they host every few years. The 2017 conference begins in just a few days!

They’re bringing in speakers from all over the region, and gearing up to deliver God’s Word and discipleship training through main sessions and workshops. Please pray that many young African people will come to know Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior!

The Word of God Preeminent

The gospel and the veracity of Scripture will be preeminent throughout the conference. They’re praying for 3,000 students to attend and to hear God’s Word preached. Topics will include marriage, sexual sin, spiritual disciplines, social media, and more.

Pray God’s Word pierces through “joints and marrow” of these young people and that the Holy Spirit convicts their souls of their sin and need for repentance.

Having Fun with the Bible

But the conference isn’t just teaching time; it’s fun too! One of the main highlights is the Bible quiz competition.

Students at churches all throughout the region have been memorizing large portions of Scripture—sometimes even whole books of the Bible—to prepare for the Bible quiz finals at the competition.

So far, the regional competitions have determined the 10 best churches out of those participating. And those 10 will get to go head to head at the National Youth Conference. What a fun and creative way to encourage young people to tuck God’s Word in their hearts!

About Training Families

After experiencing a remarkable rebirth into the Christian faith, Pastor Joseph and his wife Francisca now have a vision to help build strong Christian families in Togo, West Africa. They are training families and Christian teens through regular gatherings, Bible studies, and national conferences.

Joseph's ministry is already involved with more than 150 local churches from the south to the north where they minister to parents and youths. But there is much more work to do. Togo has a population of 7 million people. Pray they can all be reached and discipled for Christ.
