Molly Rescued from the Red Light District
Molly was growing up in a brothel with her mother. She had no idea that there was more to life then living in the red light district. Molly’s mom and grandmother had also grown up in this area—this was the only life they knew.
Every day Molly would be left to take care of herself and manage her own life as her mother slept days and worked nights. Molly was 10 years old and was never given the opportunity to attend school. One day, Molly’s mom heard about homes that would provide care, love, and education for her daughter. Molly’s mom contacted a local freedom business to inquire about sending Molly to one of those homes and was referred our home.
Our team made a visit to Molly’s mom and while there, the “madam” entered the room. She started speaking to the mom and threatening her if she let Molly leave. The madam further reminded her that she intended to start grooming Molly for the red light profession and that letting Molly leave would “not be good” for her. So our team left without rescuing Molly from the red light district.
Our hearts were heavy all day and we just kept thinking of the situation and praying that God would intervene. Later that day, we received a call from Molly’s mom saying, "Come and get Molly now." She had secured Molly in a safe place for pick up. Our prayers were answered—Molly was rescued from the red light district and placed in the home.
