New Life in Christ for 3 Girls
I have called you by name, you are mine (Isaiah 43:1)
Not Just Physical Freedom
The Rescuing Children of Sex Workers project in India works beyond the physical freedom of a child from the Red Light District. Their aim above all is to see Jesus free these kids from their sin and their shame. They pray that Christ will give them rebirth into a "living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading" (1 Peter 1:3-4).
And what a joy when God answers their prayers!
Three Growing Lives of Faith
Over the summer, 3 of the girls who were rescued from the Red Light District chose to follow Christ in baptism as a result of their growing lives of faith. These three girls—Anahita, Swati, and Tia—learned about Jesus at the home where they lived after they were rescued.
They've been cared for physically and mentored spiritually. They've experienced daily devotions at the home and slowly allowed God to speak into their heart. As their prayers kept getting answered, their faith also grew. They began to develop a personal relationship with God through prayer. And now they're trusting Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
A New Beginning
Since their baptisms, the girls feel that they are experiencing a new life in Christ and they're experiencing a new beginning. Anahita expressed that after baptism, she no longer feels alone and has surrendered her life to Jesus. She says she has joy in her heart and knows that Jesus is always there beside her.
