How to Pray for Indigenous Christians: A 7 Day Guide

On Day 1, pray for indigenous Christians and their families. Pray for encouragement and joy in everything, even trials.

“therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” (Matthew 9:38)

Day 1: Pray for Encouragement and Joy

On Day 1, pray for indigenous Christians and their families. Pray for encouragement and joy in everything, even trials.

“But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves whom you will serve… But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.” (Joshua 24:15)

Day 2: Pray for Protection

On Day 2, pray that God would protect indigenous Christians who are serving the Lord in ministry, whether vocationally or as volunteers.

“I will say of the LORD, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.’” (Psalm 91:2)

Day 3: Pray for Families

On Day 3, pray for Christians around the globe who are parents—that they’d raise their children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. Pray for children of indigenous Christians. Pray that God would save them too by His grace and sanctify them.

“Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.” (Ephesians 6:4)

Day 4: Pray for Ministry

On Day 4, pray for people who are being served and witnessed to by indigenous Christians globally. Pray for them to receive what is being said without language barriers or cultural difficulties to get in the way.

“Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6)

Day 5: Pray for Provision

On Day 5, pray that indigenous Christians who are serving in ministry will have financial and prayer support needed to focus on the work God has called them to.

“And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19).

Day 6: Pray for Worship

On Day 6, pray for Christians across the world who will attend church services over the weekend. Pray that indigenous pastors will speak God’s truth boldly and accurately, and that unbelievers will come to a saving knowledge of the gospel.

“So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?'” (Hebrews 13:6)

Day 7: Pray for Rest

On Day 7, pray that indigenous Christians who are serving in ministry will take the time to rest and worship each week.

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” (Galatians 6:9)
