Paralyzed by a Stroke
“This happened to you because you left our religion!” His friends and family members accused Deep (not his real name). Part of the large population of Indian diaspora in the Philippines, he had been a worship leader in Sikh and Hindu temples. Then in 2018 he became a follower of Christ through the ministry of Live Global partners Mark and Shoni. Deep became a worship leader for Jesus, serving in churches and evangelistic campaigns. When he suffered a stroke while leading worship in December 2022. He was partially paralyzed and couldn’t speak. Non-Christians were quick to point out that he had brought this upon himself because he was worshiping Jesus and had left Sikhism.
From Paralysis to Healing
Christians prayed and sought medical care for Deep. Mark says, “We rushed him to the hospital, prayed and believed to see a testimony. By God’s grace, in a few weeks of time he showed signs of improvement in his health. Doctors and therapists were very happy and surprised.”
Christians kept praying, and Deep continued to improve. God made it possible for him to walk again, to talk, and even to sing. He is leading worship again and shares his testimony in people’s homes. His story is a strong witness to God’s power and grace. His friends and family members have taken notice of the Lordship of Christ and God’s healing power as Deep moved from his state of paralysis to healing.
