Focused Refugee Ministry from Bosnia to Poland to Ukraine

During the crisis in Ukraine, they have also been serving pastors and churches in Poland that care for refugees fleeing the war.

Observing a Change

Zijah and Lorena are Live Global partners in Bosnia who provide care, education, and outreach to refugee communities. During the crisis in Ukraine, they have also been serving pastors and churches in Poland that care for refugees fleeing the war. They have observed recent changes as more people leaving eastern Ukraine are staying in the western part of the country rather than crossing into Poland. Churches in that region are overwhelmed by the need to serve so many people. Zijah and Lorena are helping churches in Poland assist the Ukrainian churches.

The Humanitarian Focus

They are focused on three projects: 1) To support children who are separated from one or both parents. 2) To take encouraging gifts to the wounded in hospitals. 3) To support the pastors and their families who are doing amazing ministry under tremendous pressure.

The Spiritual Focus

Since large numbers of refugees are now staying in western Ukraine there is pressure on churches and church leaders to organize refugee centers. “I would say that now we are in the stage of encouraging church leaders and helping them with focus on spiritual work. Hopefully, one day we will come to the stage of rebuilding church buildings, seminaries, and other buildings that were destroyed.”

Pray for pastors, churches, and ministries in Ukraine and neighboring countries that are serving the homeless, wounded, and needy. Pray for them to be focused on spiritual needs and opportunities as well as meeting physical and material needs. Pray for them to be encouraged as they serve.

Consider getting involved by giving for the Wave ministry and for the Ukraine Crisis Fund.
