Pastor Stephen and his wife have dedicated their lives to serving in India. They established a camp as well as a retreat ministry. This ministry works to train leaders, and most importantly, reach lost souls. This camp has grown as land has been purchased over time. Not only has this expanded the physical aspects of the camp, but also the spiritual. The goal is to use the property to lead seminars, offer training, and serve kids at a Gospel-oriented camp. But that’s not all they do. Despite the pandemic odds, Pastor Stephen and his wife also planted a new church and began a new Christian school!
Growing to 500 During a Pandemic
With much prayer and dedication, recently there have been many answered prayers! They founded the church right before the COVID-19 pandemic, and since then, numbers have increased to more than 500 members. Six men serve on the pastoral staff and a dozen people have been baptized since the church’s opening. Now they are waiting on the Lord to begin a new house church wherever the Lord leads next.
Children Learn the Good News
The new school has been another major blessing. It serves grades Kindergarten to 8th grade. The Lord has blessed by giving the school 14 teachers and 270 students. The school’s goal is of course to educate and grow literacy, but also to help the children learn the Good News. As many different cultures and socioeconomic statuses come together, challenges abound but God is working there.
Setting a Record!
The pandemic caused some limitations at Engedi camp over the past year, but God has seen fit to allow the camp to return to full capacity. In fact, in March 2021 the camp set a record with 400 children attending! Please pray that God provides more cabins, baths, and toilets for the kids. Most importantly, join us in praying the kids will come to a saving knowledge of the truth.
