About the Ministry
Among Romanian churches, the need for training global workers is obvious. Romanian people who are sent by their churches to do vocational ministry in Romania and abroad desperately need care and equipping to do well the work God has called them to.
With this goal in mind, Alex and Cami Vlasin organize two retreats each year for Romanian global workers. The retreats are a time for spiritual and physical refreshment and encouragement, fellowship with other global workers, counseling, seminars, and training. There is also a program at the same time for Third Culture Kids.
Throughout the year, Alex and Cami also offer a global worker training course at a Christian college, marriage seminars, Third Culture Kids and parenting workshops, on-field visits, prayer support, counseling, and pastoral care.
Ministry Focuses
Meet the Leaders: Dr. Alex and Cami Vlasin
Alex was raised in a home with believing parents, despite the persecution his family faced during difficult times in their country. Alex remembers being drawn to God's Word and reading the Bible as early as four years old. And despite the challenges he knew he would face, Alex placed his faith in Jesus as a teenager. Throughout his life, Alex worked in construction and agriculture, and for a variety of Christian non-profits. He has studied to receive two different Ph.Ds: one in missiology and one in sociology.
Cami was also raised in a home with believing parents, and endured some of the same trials for her family's faith that Alex did. Despite this, Cami still received Jesus as her Lord and Savior as a young child and still remembers the strong impression the truth about Jesus made on her heart. Cami knows God has continued to guide her throughout her life, from choosing her husband to having two kids to the call to enter a life of full-time ministry. Throughout her life, Cami has studied to receive an MTh in marriage counseling an MA in family psychotherapy, and multiple certificates for other sorts of Christian counseling. She's worked as a teacher and psychotherapist and now serves alongside her husband in their ministry together.
