About the Ministry
Our purpose is to plant a church among the Bedouin people group. We want to serve the Bedouin and Egyptian Coptic people and use a variety of activities to reach them with the gospel. This land has no churches and no believers. The Bible says: “For so the Lord has commanded us, saying: ‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.'”
The Bible also says, “How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him, whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?”
So how could the Muslim Bedouin people come to salvation without someone reaching them and sharing the good news with them? In asking this question, God prompted us to plant a church in that dark place. Now, we can see clearly how a church is growing, even though it’s a church without walls and we don’t have a building yet.
After years of caring for the people, visiting them, and sharing the good news, doors opened for us to start discipleship groups for men, women, boys, and girls. Through these groups, we pray that people may believe in Jesus and become mature in him, learning to live a healthy life God’s way, even in the spiritual darkness of their desert home.
Ministry Focuses
Meet the Leader: Abraham and Deborah (pseudonym)
Abraham – I was born in a rural city along the Nile Delta. I grew up in a Christian family, and my father was an elder in the Evangelical Church. I started to grow inside the church, but I had not experienced the Lord yet.
On December 10, 2006, my father passed away due to hepatitis. This was a big shock to me in my youth. A year later, in the summer of 2007, I went to an evangelistic conference with my church. The first night, the minister spoke from the Bible about God as our Father.
Because of these words, I remembered my earthly father who meant so much to me and the impact that he left on me. Because of his departure, I lost my father, but on this evangelistic night, I cried a lot and pledged that Jesus Christ would be an earthly and heavenly father to me. I took him as my personal Savior for my life.
Over the years, my life has been formed “in the Lord’s field” and I began to serve in ministry part-time. In 2022 I left my job to devote myself fully to serving the Lord by planting churches in disadvantaged places, specifically among the unreached people group of the Bedouin.
Deborah – I was born in Jerusalem, where I grew up in an orthodox religious house. I used to go to church with my family once a year. This is one of the reasons I did not know Jesus as a father for a long time in my life. All I knew in that time was that there is a God in the sky!
In my childhood, I always had questions like: “Is there a real God? Does he even care about me? Why did he give me such a hard family?” I had so many doubts and questions with no answers.
All that doubting became thoughts that I believed. All the while, I was growing up in Bethlehem with parents who are not believers. I began to hate God so much, as I never felt his presence in my life.
I went to college to study what I had dreamed of, but my father didn’t want me to go. He believed I didn’t deserve it, that I am only a servant for my family.
With my mom’s help, I went to college. After two years of college, my father said I would not continue. I hated my life more. I hated God more. I decided I did not want God in my life anymore. I believed He is not even here.
For months I faced depression. My father saw the physical toll on me. The family worried I could die, so my father said I could study again, but he only gave me one choice. A Bible College close to our house—only 10 minutes away.
I laughed at my father and told him, “Me? Study theology? I already hate God! Disgusting!” But I agreed, because it was the only way for me to go outside of our house!
It was God who used my father to bring me back to him.
At the beginning, I laughed at everyone praying. But something started to change me from inside, especially when the preacher said Jesus could be my father. He can forgive me and make me pure again!
I went to my house that day, closed my bedroom door, and decided to give my life to Jesus. I will never forget that day!
