About the Ministry
Born into a pastor’s home in Manipur, India, John’s life has been shaped by seeing the needs of people surrounded by God’s grace at work. John invested seven years at Moody Bible Institute in preparation to return and serve in his homeland of India.

John understands the needs of India. Young people leave home in search of education, jobs, and opportunity. John understands the next generation of youth, young adults, and students well. He is also well acquainted with the lives of church leaders and members, knowing their needs. A lifetime of training in a Christ-centered, compassionate family gives John a deep commitment to the vulnerable.
John seeks to advance God’s kingdom by reaching India’s next generation. In his ministry, he will reach the young, teach the church, and care for the needy in a gospel destitute culture.
He is working to reach the next generation through evangelism and discipleship, Christian education, and writing and media ministry.
He is equipping the church through pastoral care and counseling, camp ministry, and pastoral training.
He is empowering the needy through compassion ministry and orphan and widow care.

Meet the Leader: John Hangsing
Growing up in Manipur, India, John was raised to see the world through a gospel lens. The son of a pastor, John’s heart beats for pastoral and outreach ministry. After spending seven years at Moody Bible Institute and Seminary, he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Pastoral Studies and a Master’s of Divinity Degree.
With this preparation to serve, John seeks to return to India to apply his theological training in his home culture context. He prays that God may use him in northeast India and in the neighboring countries of Nepal and Myanmar to make an impact for God’s glory.
Pray with John for God to create gospel partnerships between churches in northeast India and in North America for the advancement of the gospel and God’s glory through the body of Christ.
