About the Ministry

Muan’s prayer is to start a music and worship program at Faith Baptist Theological Seminary in Myanmar – music is an incredible door opener to talk to the people of Myanmar about Jesus. Today, there is also a growing interest in using music in missions including specialized training for schools and ministers. This program will consist of worship classes such as The Worshipping Church, Discipling Music Ministry, and music classes such as Piano lab, Music Theory and Aural Skills. Training Christians to use music to spread the hope of Jesus is truly a blessing and a gift and my prayer is that this program will be used by God to change many lives for His purpose and mission.

Meet the Leader: Muan

I grew up in Myanmar (formerly known as Burma). Although Myanmar is a Buddhist country, through his mercy and grace, the Lord made a way so that I was born into a Christian family. In many ways, this story starts with my parents. They took me to church along with my siblings, taught us about Jesus, and set a godly example for all four of us. I soon began to realize my own personal need of salvation when I understood that being born into a Christian home, and going to church did not make me a Christian. I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Savior when I was 10 years old at a church youth camp. I saw that Jesus was God and the only way to salvation. What my parents had told me about God’s salvation at home was true! It was then I understood John 3:16 and believed God’s and His provision of His Son for me, and I placed my faith in Jesus Christ as my personal Savior.

With a new life in Christ as my Savior came a purpose for living and the assurance of heaven. God was starting a process to bring me to Himself as I gradually learn to follow His plans for me. God wired me as a student, reader and musician who loves to pass on the information I learn to others. In 2009, God opened a door for me to study at Baptist Bible College in PA. I majored in sacred music and had wonderful godly professors who helped me develop my musical skills. Throughout college, God equipped me for ministry of teaching as I had opportunities to teach biblical worship and give private lessons to students. Higher education, especially in music and worship, is not readily available to everyone in my country. Since the Myanmar coup in 2021, when the military seized power from the people, violence against Christian minorities has spiked. Through it all, God has given me an opportunity and a calling to join in missions with my siblings at the college and seminary (Faith Baptist Bible College and Theological Seminary) that my Dad had started.
