About the Ministry
Ionut and Esther are planting a church in the city of Bals. They are ministering in villages around the city with street evangelism, and showing videos with the “Cinema on Wheels” ministry during the summer months. The next two ministries they are starting is an AWANA program for children and youth Bible study called “The Story of God.”

Meet the Leaders: Ionut and Esther
Ionut: I was born in a family of Orthodox Christians, but only in name. My father struggled with addiction, and when I was young, my father become very ill. After many months of hospitalization, my father returned to the Lord through a nurse who gave him a
New Testament and urged him to pray to God who could free him from these vices that kept him bound. I also returned to the Lord, because I saw how God was present in my family and, when I was 14 years old, I surrendered my life in the hands of God.
I participated in a Christian camp where I felt God’s calling to serve Him. Those involved in that camp served so beautifully, and the Lord gave me a passion to reach the lost. Along with this passion, God opened a door for me to preach the gospel in villages to hundreds of adults, young people, and children with the ministry “Cinema on Wheels”. My passion for people and the love to serve them generated in my heart the desire to learn more. After finishing high school, I began to formal study Theology. After finishing the theological courses, I married Esther and began to help several churches in Southern Romania. Since then, God has called us to serve the church in Bals where we are church planting and continuing to evangelize and reach those in the many villages surrounding our city.
Esther: I was born into a Christian family. At the age of 3, my father died, and we were left alone with my mother who raised us very hard. During my teenage years I had many moments of repulsion towards God, I didn’t understand why he took my father. I continued for many years in this rebellion towards God. From these experiences I learned to trust God and understand that my life is in God’s hands. God worked more in my life after I met my husband. Ionut helped me understand what it means to have an authentic relationship with God, and I began to grow closer to Him. I am currently a student at the “Faculty of Letters,” and I am preparing to be a teacher. I want to use this skill and training to work with the children that Lord is bringing to our city.

- Pray that Lord would continue to bless and grow Holy Trinity Baptist Church in Bals
- Pray that the Lord would bless the evangelism efforts of Ionut and Esther through the “Cinema on Wheels,” and that many come to know the Lord through this ministry
- Pray for the future AWANA and youth Bible study ministries
