About the Ministry
Comani is a mid-size village in Olt county Romania. It is an extremely underdeveloped and poorly resourced village with many villagers living in abject poverty. The total population of Comani is around 5,000. Comani is steeped in the orthodox religion which has a tight grip on the community using fear and intimidation. Alexe and Veronica have pierced this bondage by being the hands and feet of Jesus to their neighbors and the greater community.
Alexe’s vision for Comani is that this small town would be filled with the knowledge of Gospel and home to a community of believers who worship Him and live out the gospel.
Through the church that Alexe and Veronica planted in Comani, Alexe believes Comani can be a beacon of hope to the community of Comani and nearby Draganesti-Olt to impact southern Romania and the world with the message of Jesus Christ.

Meet the Leader: Alexe and Veronica
Alexe and Veronica Costea was sent by their a sending church in northern Romania to plant a church in the southwest part of Romania. This part of Romania is commonly called the “graveyard of missions” due to the hard hearts in this part of Romania. Alexe and Veronica (along with their four children) have labored in this area for over 20 years.
They planted a church about 12 years ago but not without local opposition. The orthodox priest in the community caused the most interference accusing Alexe and Veronica of cannibalism and witchcraft. But despite these accusations, they labored on in the Lord by providing the community with food, medicine and firewood for the winters. Through these labors of love, the Alpha and Omega church has grown to about 40 people with a vibrant youth group led my their daughter Pricilla.
