Haiti: Back to School Means Hope

Going back to school means so much for each student in each setting. After a series of traumatic events in Haiti, returning to classes seemed like too much to hope for. After the August 14th earthquake, friends of Haiti prayed for God to restore basic essentials to the vulnerable. Going back to school means hope for the island nation, as children regain access to good nutrition, resources for learning, and routines reinforcing a sense of safety in their fragile homeland.
Live Global's crisis team came together after the earthquake, to pray and plan how to help Haiti with a national-first approach. National leader Pastor Predestin is on the ground, caring for children and youth from a firm foundation of trusting, insightful relationships. Miraculously, the children of My Father's House have gone back to class! Listen to orphanage and school director Pastor Predestin share in his own words how school means hope in Haiti.
Hope for Haiti in School
"Dear prayer warriors and orphanage supporters:
My Father’s House Haiti. Today is the day of back to school after almost three months. Yesterday I had a meeting with all the children in the orphanage to draw their attention to God's faithfulness.
Many events have happened in Haiti in recent months. Political crises ended in violent demonstrations, kidnappings and armed robberies which until now continue to ravage, famine, food which becomes extremely expensive and the assassination of the president in his private residence. The earthquake and the after shake add with the cyclone etc.
Despite everything; He has protected all the children and He continues to protect them. It is truly a grace from God. With all these circumstances, it was not easy for us to provide all the necessary needs for the children to get them back to school this year, but our God is faithful.
There are always certain things to do, but one fact is certain, they all returned to school this morning. Thank you for all the donations you sent to support the children. Without your prayers and your gifts, after the Lord, it would be very difficult and even impossible for me to serve children and bring them up to the level where they are. Every day I really ask the Holy Spirit to keep you and protect you. Have a good day and may the Lord bless you all."
