How Your Giving Makes a Difference: A Letter from Pastor Predestin

Editor's Note: Pastor Predestin, a Live Global national partner, and the director of My Father's House Orphanage in Haiti, wrote this letter to the staff at Live Global. We've modified it only slightly for English language comprehension.
Dear beloved in the Lord!
At this Christmas time, which reminds us of the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, I would like to write you these words to express to you my deep gratitude for all the support you had given to the orphan children of My Father's House Haiti.
Historically, Haiti is a poor country. The majority of people who live in Haiti live from day to day because there are not enough jobs for everyone to find work in order to take care of their families. Because of the lack of available jobs, most men are employed, while the majority of women stay at home or on the streets, which gives birth to prostitution.
Women, for the most part, are forced to sell their bodies either to married men or to several other men in order to meet their daily needs. They end up giving birth to a multitude of fatherless children who eventually end up on the streets. Men who have jobs can often still not meet their own needs, and often have at least five wives with whom end up with multiple children that he cannot provide for. In Haiti, children born into poor families have no hope, even more so children who are fatherless and motherless. These children who grow up in this situation and with all these complications, become delinquents in the streets and disturb the public peace.
I give you this description to show you how your support is transforming lives in Haiti. When the Lord brings such a child to an orphanage, it enables them to become someone in society who will change their community. Please understand how much you are helping the child personally, the community in particular, and the country in a general way.
As one who lives and grew up in Haiti, who lives with the children, knows the communities they come from, and who also knows the history of Haiti economically and financially, I must tell you that your support has greatly helped transform Haiti through children at all levels.

Before God and before men, your works will not be without reward because you have invested in the lives of orphans, needy and abandoned children, and even widows.
I wish you a Merry Christmas 2020 under the eyes of Almighty God.
