What We Believe

It is God-breathed as through men were carried along by the Holy Spirit so that all the words as originally written are His words, with His authority, entirely truthful, and without error.
There are 66 books of the Old and New Testament.
The Bible is the supreme and final authority on matters of faith and life. The Bible is the objective standard by which God directs us which, by God’s choice, cannot be contradicted.

The three persons are eternally equal in power, glory, majesty, and divinity.
The Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God, but there are not three gods nor are they different manifestations of god. They are distinct eternal persons but one God.

The Father has planned for His glory all that comes to pass and purposed from eternity to redeem a people for Himself.
In His sovereignty, He is neither author nor approver of sin, nor does He negate the accountability of moral, intelligent creatures.
God the Father, through the work of the Son and the application of the Holy Spirit, adopts believers into His family.

The Son of God existed as coequal with the Father and the Holy Spirit for all eternity past. As truly God He participated in the creation of all things and upholds creation by the Word of His power.
In the fullness of time, the Son of God became truly human (the eternal Word became flesh, Jn. 1:14). In becoming truly human, He did not give up any of his divinity and divine attributes but took on the addition of a human nature so that He is completely and truly God and now is completely and truly man in addition.
The Son of God was born of the virgin Mary, was completely without sin, lived a perfect obedient human life, performed miracles, and proclaimed the gospel and demonstrated Himself as Savior of the world.
The Lord Jesus gave himself up as a sacrificial death in accordance to the Father’s plan. His death was sacrifice for sins, satisfied the justice of the Father, propitiated the wrath of God, reconciled God and man, and obtained an eternal inheritance.
He was buried and rose again on the third day. His resurrection is a physical bodily resurrection with a transformed body of the new creation that can never die again.
The Lord Jesus Christ ascended in a resurrected body into heaven and was exalted, taking His place at the right hand of the Father, where He makes intercession on behalf of all who come to God through Him.

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Godhead and is coequal in power, glory, and divinity.
The Holy Spirit is in the only efficient agent in the application of redemption.
The Holy Spirit indwells all true believers and is the down payment of their eternal inheritance.
The Holy Spirit’s presence in the believer will cause growth and transformation that is manifest in the fruit of the Spirit. He empowers the believer for a life of holiness and equips the believer for service and ministry.

Adam was a real person, created by a direct act of God, and established as representative for humanity.
Adam and Eve were created in a state of innocence.
God created male and female as two distinct biological genders and established marriage as the covenant union between a man and woman.

By voluntary transgression Adam fell from his state of innocence, in consequence of which all mankind are now sinners by nature and by choice, and therefore under just condemnation to everlasting, conscious punishment, separated from God.
Every person enters this world under the power and enslavement to sin.
Our sin leaves us unable to please, obey God, and meet the standard necessary for a right relationship with Him.

The salvation of sinners is initiated by a loving God; it is by grace alone.
Salvation is accomplished only through the mediating work of the Son of God and achieved by his death, burial, and resurrection.
Salvation is received by faith alone.
The sinner must be born again, being regenerated by the power of the Holy Spirit thereby receiving a new nature.
The believer who has exercised personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ is declared righteous by God [“justified”] and in possession of a salvation which is eternally secure.
A result of salvation is a life of obedience to God producing good works.

The universal church is the entire company of believers in Christ. They are his “body.”
A local church is an organized assembly of baptized believers, associated by a commitment to the faith, fellowship, and proclamation of the gospel, and observing the ordinances of believer’s baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper.
The offices of the local church are elder/overseer/pastor and deacon.
The two ordinances of the church are the Lord’s Supper (a commemoration of Christ’s death to be observed by believers until His return) and baptism (the immersion of a believer in water, in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, representing the believer’s death to sin and his resurrection to a new life).
The Church has been commissioned by Jesus Christ to preach the gospel to all nations. Each Particular Church and every believer bear responsibility for this commission. He calls the Church and every believer to proclaim the gospel with urgency, compassion, and persuasion to all people and invite them to believe.

The Lord Jesus will return from heaven in the same way he went up to heaven at His ascension.
We believe the Scriptures teach the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust.
The just, those who have been redeemed, will spend eternity in full enjoyment of God’s presence. The unjust, those who through impenitence and unbelief refuse to accept God’s offer of mercy, will spend eternity in everlasting, conscious punishment.
We believe that the Lord will recreate a New Heavens and a New Earth and the resurrected righteous will dwell there for all eternity and God’s glory will radiate this new/renewed creation.
In the eternal state, there will be people from every tongue, tribe, and nation who will gather before Jesus to worship Him. It is in light of this eternal promise that we are charged with a proclamation of the gospel to people everywhere and we are promised our efforts will bear fruit according to God’s gracious will.
