When Summer School Is a Good Thing
In the United States, being sent to summer school might not be a good thing. But in Myanmar, and specifically at Hope International School (HIS), going to summer school is a great thing!
HIS Teaches the Gospel
It's a great thing because Hope International School teaches their students the truth of God's Word, introduces them to Scripture, and shares the gospel with them. The amazing thing is that many of the students who come to HIS come from Buddhist families. And they have the opportunity to learn about Jesus for the first time!
HIS Teaches English
The reason many Buddhist families will send their kids to a Christian school is that HIS specifically teaches English alongside the normal curriculum. English is such a valuable language for Burmese kids to learn because knowing English opens up opportunities to get a good college education and good jobs later on in life. Plus, HIS teachers know that most Christian resources are printed in English. Their hope is that students will have access to these resources as they grow up so that they can continue learning about Christ long after they leave HIS.

Summer School a Doorway to HIS
Right now, summer school is in session with 38 students ages 3–12. (And yes, summer does take place in March in Myanmar!) Half of the kids come from Christian homes and the other half from Buddhist homes. And many of the students are planning to continue attending HIS when the next school year starts as well.
What a powerful testimony in Myanmar this school has. We at Live Global are so grateful for the ways God is working to save souls in this country.
