Schools, Music, Senior Programs, and Farms

Schools, music, seniors, and farms

What do schools, music, senior programs, and farms have in common?

If you ask Pastors Ajit and Salim, these are all ways to reach people for Christ in Bangladesh! We told you Friendship Ministries was all about creative ways to engage people with the gospel. They certainly don’t disappoint!

Free Friendship Children’s Schools

If you lived in Bangladesh and could send your kids to a good school for free, wouldn’t you? Through Free Friendship Children’s Schools the ministry can easily gain access to villages. Plus, they can build relationships with entire families and make in-roads to share the gospel, not only with the kids, but with their parents as well. All parents are invited to parents meetings and each year they have a camp for the entire family where they preach the Word of God.

The parents are invited to attend Bible courses. And in the kids’ classes, they teach the truth that children are a gift from God. They maintain that Jesus taught that we should teach children in such a way as not to turn them against God.

Friendship Musical Team

As young people go through Friendship Bible classes, those with musical talent are encouraged and invited to join the musical team. They help the ministry with worship sessions at various functions. Pray that as young people minister through music, they would know God better. Pray that the music they need will be available for their ministry.

Friendship Seniors Program

In 2015, Friendship Ministries started a program for elderly men and women. They are very poor and often neglected. In Bangladesh, the elderly are ignored and no one gives them time. What a sweet way to minister to these souls!

The seniors program takes the elderly for a one-day event where they sing and teach the Bible. They encourage them and many of the elderly people believed what they heard. Many who attended last year have died. Pray for those who are still living that they will come to know Jesus better.

Business Enterprise Development Program

Friendship Ministries has a farm they use to teach people in Bangladesh about supporting themselves through business. The profits from the farm are used for different programs, and even to bless the Friendship Ministries staff. Eggs, chickens, and fish are given to the staff members as God blesses the crop yield. Pray for more years of abundant harvest for the farm.

About Friendship Ministries

From a church, to Bible classes, to a literature library mobile boat, Friendship Ministries is about sharing the love of Jesus and discipling believers throughout Bangladesh in strategic ways.

In the 1970s Pastor Salim started small Bible classes in his area, which later became Friendship Bible Church, a blossoming and growing community of believers dedicated to knowing Jesus and making him known. Using this church as a ministry hub, other outreaches like a Jesus Film video program, theology training schools, and even a football (soccer) team have been born to do evangelism throughout the country.

All of it aims to meet needs, meet people, and introduce Jesus to people who don't yet know Him. Now led by Pastor Ajit, Friendship Ministries works “in response to the Great commission to make disciples of Jesus in Bangladesh.”
