Putting the Bible Into Hands and Hearts

Pastor Ajit understands what it takes for people in his country to open their hands and their hearts to God’s word. But he can’t do it alone. He needs a partner to provide what he can’t. Through partnership, Ajit puts the Bible into the hands and hearts of people in Bangladesh.
National Partners Know the Needs
In the world’s most densely populated country, cold season seeps into bamboo homes. Since they have no heat source or wind barrier, there’s nowhere to escape the chill. Pastor Ajit knows the people of the communities well. He understands their needs and ministers to their practical needs, even starting a pharmacy to help with medical needs in the pandemic.
By working with North American partners, Ajit was able to buy blankets during the cold Christmas season. Students who faithfully attended the weekly Bible class in their villages received a warm blanket as a gift. When families open their hands to receive their blanket, they also open their hearts to receive God’s word.

Blankets Open Doors to the Bible
With blankets in hand, Pastor Ajit visited eager villagers. He told the Christmas story of Bethlehem to over 2000 kids, teens and parents. The programs were also filled with games, singing, Bible verse quoting, and preaching the gospel of the gift of salvation. 1,500 Gideon New Testaments in the William Carey translation were given to those who came.

“For those from a Muslim background, the Muslim language translation is important. In some communities, the population is 95% Muslim and an Injil Sharif New Testament and Kitabul Mukkadas (full Bible) are necessary.”
Pastor Ajit had already given a Bible to one young lady who opened her heart to God’s word. At the Christmas celebration, she quoted 180 verses without a break. Because of the help from North American partners, Ajit was able to place a warm blanket into many cold hands. More importantly, these blankets helped to open hearts to receive God’s word.
