How to Reach Families from All Backgrounds
Friendship Ministries in Bangladesh has gotten so creative over the years. They are dedicated to reaching families from all backgrounds. The places where Friendship Ministries works are challenging, and serving the community through established friendships helps to develop trust and build bridges to others in the community.
Free Friendship Children's Schools
Friendship Ministries runs free friendship children's schools in several different communities. They meet every weekday morning and 10 teachers plus one principal are on staff.
All in all, the schools serve 300 children.
A Day at School
Free Friendship Children's Schools were formed to develop children holistically through food (snacks), education, spiritual teaching, parental awareness, sports, and visiting families. So each day, students will assemble to pray and learn languages (their local language plus English), do word books, math, religious history lessons, social science, drawing, culture programs, and learn Bible verses.
The children in this program are from the poorest of the poor families so it provides an incredible opportunity to assist these underserved communities and families.
The Connection to Families of All Backgrounds
The children come from all backgrounds, so the prayer is that God would use this ministry to preach the good news to each of them. The staff at Friendship Children's Schools will visit every family and when they do, they pray for their family and give their personal testimonies to them and share the good news.
Often the parents need help providing food, shelter, education and health care. They are day laborers, fishermen, and rickshaw pullers who benefit greatly from the service provided by Friendship Ministries.
Pray with us that God will take care of these families and call them to Himself!
