Video: You Are Called to Prepare

Called to prepare

If you are called to ministry then you are called to prepare.

Those at Faith Baptist Bible College and Theological Seminary in Myanmar fully believe this! From the founder, Dr. Mung, to today’s current students, everyone at FBBCTS has a desire to know God, study His Word, and prepare for ministry by getting a solid theological education and training.

Dr. Mung Paved the Way

When Dr. Mung (the founder and current president of FBBCTS) was a young, new believer and first sensed God’s call on his life to enter full-time ministry, he knew he couldn’t do it without seminary training. But at that time, there were no theologically sound, Bible-believing seminaries in his own country, Myanmar.

So, Dr. Mung had to travel to India, to the United States, to India, and back to Myanmar (with 7,000 volumes of books in tow!) instead.

Praise God that today, young Burmese believers don’t have to leave their home country to get the solid Bible training they need in order to do evangelism, church planting, children’s ministry, and more in their own country among their own people. They can get it all at FBBCTS.

How We Can Help

God has Faith Baptist Bible College and Theological Seminary under his sovereign control. He has placed phenomenal Burmese and American professors at the school. He has equipped it with many books. He has provided a remarkable building. He’s allowed more than 2,000 students to graduate since the school’s opening. And He’s continuing to bring new students to the school year after year.

But, that doesn’t mean there’s no place for a Western Christian to get involved.

First, you can pray for God to continue to guide and direct the leadership, professors, and students at the school in holiness and sound training.

Second, if you ask Dr. Mung, the one thing the school needs most (after prayer) is more solid theological books in English. Find out why. If you have some, you can consider donating them.

Third, the school does charge each student tuition, but the tuition from students alone is not enough to pay the full expenses. That’s why outside donors from North America have been helping support the school for years. If you’d like to become one of the financial supporters of FBBTS, you can do so at the link below. About Faith Baptist Bible College and Theological Seminary

At a time in history when God is bringing huge numbers of people to Christ, seminary training is a vital key to the Great Commission in Asia. Faith Baptist Bible College and Theological Seminary in Myanmar trains young and inexperienced leaders in solid theological doctrine, helping Burmese believers become mature evangelists. These Burmese believers graduate excited and equipped to make disciples in their home cities and villages, enabling new believers throughout the country to become mature followers of Jesus Christ.

Dr. Do Suan Mung, the faithful founder of both the Bible college and seminary in Myanmar, opened the first doors to the school in 1986 and is personally still on the front lines of this educational endeavor. He is now joined by plenty of other well-trained professors as they raise up and send out their students. Between the college and seminary, hundreds of students are trained each year to go out as pastors, evangelists, and missionaries to the lost in Myanmar.

Join Faith Baptist Bible College and Theological Seminary on their mission to empower students for a life of enduring commitment to Christ, biblical fidelity, moral integrity, intellectual growth, and lasting contribution to the Kingdom of God.

Meet the President: Dr. Do Suan Mung

Dr. Do Suan Mung founded Faith Baptist Bible College in his home state of Myanmar—Chin State—in 1986. Since then, Dr. Mung has served as the president of the school, which expanded in 2003 to include Faith Baptist Theological Seminary, located in Yangon (the former capital city). The schools combined have graduated hundreds of students who are now serving the Lord in many different capacities, including evangelism, pastoral roles, church planting, missions, children's ministry, and more.

Dr. Mung tells a powerful story about how God saved him through Jesus Christ, provided for his seminary training, and led him to begin Faith Baptist. Read the full account here.

Dr. Mung and his wife have four children, who by God's grace are all serving the Lord in Myanmar or in the United States.
