Biblical Counsel for Trauma in the Middle East
We want to see how the Lord will heal deeply wounded souls because of war and terror.
That's Bubu, leader of the Discipling Believers project, speaking. He and his wife raise up national Christians from the Middle East and disciple them and train them to continue doing effective ministry in their own Middle Eastern countries. So it's obvious that these young Christians will need to know how to biblically counsel people who have experienced trauma and war. Hardly anyone will be untouched by it and a lot of people see hardship like these as barriers to the faith.
And so praise God that He recently provided a couple from the United States who have insight into how to prayerfully and biblically counsel traumatized people. This man and his wife conducted a training session to teach the Christian students there how the Gospel applies to situations of trauma and war.
The students, who are in part traumatized themselves, repeated again and again that they had never before heard about a Biblical approach to trauma. They discovered another important dimension of the saving and healing power of Jesus.
They did the training in a protected and non-public place where everybody felt comfortable and secure. One of the students told Bubu and Bahiti during the first session that after many months, he felt for the first time free and without any threat or danger to his life.
