God Has Not "Revoked the Calling"
Three months of total lockdown in Bubu and Bahiti's little country in the Middle East come to a close. They said it's like their nation is waking up from a long sleep! But for Bubu and Bahiti, they used the time of pruning and cleansing to get back to the very basics of following Jesus and to use technology to connect with their teams all across the region.
What Bubu and Bahiti have planted over the years still needs to be cultivated and discipled. God has given much grace during this COVID-19 season! But now as the international airport reopens for its first flights, they're ready again to fly and see their dear friends across the region.
Working and traveling internationally and cross-culturally has always been risky and dangerous. We haven't heard the Lord telling us now in a new era of Pandemics that He has revoked the calling to go to the nations. Pray that we understand His voice correctly and that we walk along His wise guidance.
Praying for English Family Camp
The host country for English Family Camp this year has gone through some extremely difficult times. The economy is run down, young people are demonstrating on the streets, cars and shops have been set on fire, the government is overwhelmed, and many people are without jobs and cash.
In light of this suffering, Bubu and Bahiti's team have still decided to step out in faith and organize a camp for 50 people in late summer. Some people think this is crazy in a time like this, but Bubu and Bahiti believe that in a time of national and personal crisis, a time of worship, prayer, fellowship, and encouraging Bible study will be a blessing to many.
Praying for Effects of COVID-19
"Social distancing" doesn't exist in Arabic culture. Numbers of fatalities are growing daily and hospitals are without equipment and know-how. Out of fear, infected people stay at home and spread the virus among their families. During these times, our brothers and sisters need encouragement and serious prayer to keep going and point to the Savior at any given moment.
With the times as they are, Bubu and Bahiti are counting on the Lord's faithfulness to open a door to do intensive discipleship training with their eight enrolled students for the Fall. Bubu and Bahiti hope to send these students to hot spots all over the Middle East following their training!
