One Beggar to Another
Lazaro has several ministries he is leading. One of these is to the people living in the city dump. Individuals live right there in the dump. They survive by dividing the trash as to what might have value to resell. The city dump is where Lazaro grew up, and when he was 17, a missionary came, introducing him to Jesus by first telling him how much Jesus loved him. It was the first time he had realized that anyone, let alone Jesus, loved him. He ministers at the dump regularly, feeding the people and also sharing the Gospel. They have seen several people saved through this ministry.
One of those people is Carmen. She was sold into prostitution at age 12 by her father. After many years in this life, she eventually found herself living at the dump with her young daughter, rummaging through trash to survive. Lazaro told her that Jesus loves her and shared the hope of Jesus Christ. God saved Carmen.
Lazaro has a very close relationship with the police department in his town. Most of the officers are unsaved and need Christ. He and his wife Glendy minister to them and also to the widows of fallen police officers. The officers have also provided security for them as they minister in dangerous and violent communities. God has saved people in these areas, and lives are changing!
