About Church Planting and Christian School with Juan Carlos and Alejandra

God led Juan Carlos and his wife Alejandra to plant a church in the busy city of Ciudad del Este, on Paraguay’s border with Brazil and Argentina.

Juan Carlos and Alejandra have served in Ciudad del Este for more than 28 years and they serve as missionaries through a Chilean missions agency called Adelphos. God has used them to establish a dynamic church, Iglesia Bautista Bíblica Jerovia, in a city of great spiritual need and opportunity.

They also lead Hope Christian School, which provides outreach and discipleship to families in the community. Pastor Escobar invests himself in training other men and women for ministry.

Meet the Pastor: Juan Carlos Escobar

Juan and Alejandra Pastor Juan Carlos Escobar met Jesus Christ when he was 19 years old in Encarnación, Paraguay. His father immediately kicked him out of the house. Juan Carlos attended Bible Institute in Argentina, where he met his Chilean wife Alejandra. After graduation, they returned to his hometown to start a church. His parents had become believers in Christ, and the new church met in their home. Juan Carolos and Alejandra have three grown children.
