How a Nicaraguan Church Strategized to Reach the Community

Iglesia strategy

Iglesia Bautista La Gracia (Grace Baptist Church) in Nicaragua is a new church plant with the intention of reaching its community for Christ.

The nationals and missionaries leading the church put together an incredible strategy to get the church off the ground and to see their community change one soul at a time.

From Outreach to Salvation

The church’s initial outreach event brought in 500 people from the community to learn about the new church plant and experience God’s love. Of the group that came to the outreach event, the first Friday night Bible study was born. Thirty people from the community came to learn about Jesus.

Then this Bible study group requested a Sunday morning church service. So, within a couple weeks, they had their first one and they’re still going strong! Shortly after the Bible study and church services began, they saw their first salvation decisions and first baptisms. Praise the Lord!

A Growing Church Plant

Now that Iglesia Bautista La Gracia is up and running, they began to mature in the types of events they host and types of ways they impact the community. One of the couples that came to know Christ out of this church got to have their wedding at the church. And a different couple got to host their baby shower at the church and experienced the blessings of the community as they were showered with gifts for their little one.

Now, the hope and prayer is that God would continue to reach more people in the community through this church and their creative methods of reaching people. Pray tithes and offerings continue to grow so this church plant can fund more efforts to spread the gospel.

Missionaries and a local Nicaraguan couple have partnered together to start Iglesia Bautista La Gracia—a new church plant in Nicaragua. The church meets in a residential community of about 1300 homes. This new church plant impacts the community already, through outreach and counseling opportunities they are quick to accept.
