Chilean Missions Near and Far
In Chile
Churches in Chile cooperate to support church planters through the Adelphos Missions Agency. One missionary, Isaac, is working in small communities 400 miles south of Santiago, the capital city. He reports that in one church they have renewed in-person services, and everyone is back in attendance. They recently celebrated baptisms! In another nearby town, the people have been reluctant to return to in-person services. He asks for prayer for immature believers to be revived.
In Peru
Chilean churches are also supporting missionaries to Peru through Adelphos. Their ministry is based in Iquitos, over 2,000 miles from Santiago. Richard, one of the missionaries, says that they are supporting works along the rivers of the Amazon Basin. “I share with you the joy and fruit of the grace of God. Five young people were baptized, obeying the Lord in this step on February 27.”
In Liberia
Adelphos also connects churches in Chile to the West African nation of Liberia, nearly 5,000 miles away. The churches support ministry to children and young people through “Adelphos Children,” helping to provide food, clothing, and education to orphans and other needy children. They have built a strong bond with ministry leaders in Liberia through prayer and care. Many children and families have come to know the Lord.
