About Child and Family Prison Ministry with Arlang

Child and Family Prison Ministry (CFPM) is a home in Thailand for children whose parents are in prison either for life or long enough that the children will be adults by the time the parents are released.

In Thailand, children can live with their mother in prison until they are 1 year old. After that, they are separated and sent to an orphanage, children's home, or to relatives. Typically, these facilities do not provide adequate care, and many families are unable to care for extra children. So many of the kids are at risk for abuse, human trafficking, or prostitution.

But with parents’ consent and permission, CFPM can legally provide care for their children. Every child in the care of CFPM lives in a safe Christian family with healthy food, a good education, and healthcare. Most importantly, CFPM kids are taught the gospel and God's Word.

CFPM also values the biological relationship between incarcerated parent and child. CFPM provides opportunities for the children to visit their parents in prison as much as possible. In addition, the foundation values keeping siblings together.

Meet the Director: Arlang

Arlang Arlang, the director of Child Family Prison Ministry (CFPM), and his sisters were raised in an orphanage where they heard the Gospel and learned about God's Word. As a result of this experience, Arlang, Arlang's wife, and Arlang's sister Amy decided to found an orphanage of their own after they went to business school.

Today they care for a number of children of incarcerated adults. They provide these kids with quality physical care and they disciple them to help them grow up as followers of Christ.

Additionally, Arlang has his own coffee business to grow, harvest, roast, and sell his own coffee beans. This helps offset the cost of the orphanage and provides a way for the CFPM kids to earn a little of their own money in exchange for their work. Read Arlang's and Amy's full testimony.
