Open Door for Muslim Youths

Interested but Under Pressure

Youth ministry in the local church is an important part of the way Zijah and Lorena care for refugees in Bosnia. Recently they have seen more young people of Muslim background attending activities and services. The recent Ramadan season was one of intense pressure for these young people, but God is working in their lives.

Our partner Zijah said, "During the last several weeks, I was sharing important prayer requests about pressure that young Christians in our church have during the Muslim month Ramadan. This year it started as the worst time of pressure that we ever had in ourTuzla church. It is a wonderful testimony for our Tuzla church and all our friends that, during the hardest time of pressure, God was bringing new people to practically every church service in the past two weeks. All of them young and from Muslim background. All of them with permission of their parents to come to church and to some of them even their parents  (or grandparents) said that they would like to come to a church service. We are thankful to God for this wonderful blessing!"

Two Stories

One young man has been attending church activities for over a year. He became a believer and takes part in church ministries. His mother even allowed him to take his younger sister to the children’s group; but lately the mother has expressed opposition. The young man is still coming, but there is a higher level of tension at home.

Another young man lives with his mother because his parents are divorced. His mother permits him to attend youth meetings.
