About Beautiful Feet Ministry with Pastor Philip

Beautiful Feet Ministry seeks to share the good news among the unreached peoples of the Himalayas. Many trek into this gospel destitute region for adventure and to experience Buddhist culture. However, few go with the intent to share Jesus.

Pastor Philip is a member of the regional people group and grew up in the local religion. Using his experience as a trekking guide, he intentionally develops treks, outreaches, and relief efforts to develop relationships with people at all levels of the society.

Pastor Philip also works to deliver Bibles to people in his country who don't have one. There are many new believers in Nepal who are unable to purchase their first Bibles. God can use you to provide His Word to those in need. A gift today could result in someone reading His Word tomorrow. At this time, a new Bible with cover costs $7.50 ,br>In addition, as an experienced church planter, Pastor Philip leads church development in the country's capital.

Meet the Pastor: Philip

Over thirty years ago, God radically changed Philip’s life from serving in a Buddhist monastery to serving in the Kingdom of God. He says, “I grew up in a very religious Buddhist family. My father was a Buddhist monk who founded and built a monastery in the Himalayas. My mother often helped him at the monastery. In my family, there are ten children, of which I am the third child. All of us used to help out at the monastery. When I was 11 years old, I found pieces of paper as I walked home from the black cardamom garden where I worked. I thought that the papers were someone's love letter.”

Since Philip had a desire to know about love letters, he collected the pieces and put them in order. He read them and placed them in his pocket. It was not a love letter, but a booklet explaining the Gospel. It also contained a postcard to get more information. Later that night, Philip read the booklet more than 10 times. The next day he sent the postcard to get more information. In the coming days, he came to know that he is a sinner and need a Savior.

“When I accepted Christ as my personal Savior,” Philip said, “our community people started persecuting me daily. So, at that time, I became a silent Christian.” Finally, he left the village and pursued further studies and became a trekking guide. He learned to teach children in Sunday School and led house fellowships. This led Philip to attend Bible college for four years in another country, where he had opportunities to preach, teach children, and disciple youth. Philip then began serving as a church planter, preacher, evangelist, and translator. He says, “As a church planter, by the grace of God, I have been able to plant three churches. The current church I am planting meets in my house and we are about 65 members. Please pray as my house cannot fit that many people.”

Pastor Philip hopes and prays that He can use his life to serve God and do great work for Him. “It is a joy to serve our Lord and I look forward to what He is going to do in the future. I am so thankful for the many people God brings into my life to serve Him with.”
